If your hair brush has a stiff handle you can use this to jab to assailant in the face or eyes. If you comb has a pick, this makes an excellent stabbing weapon. In addition, many local agencies sponsor these instructional classes for little or no cost. Local police departments, colleges, and even the local YMCA will often offer classes in the art of women's self defense. These courses are designed to bring in women from all spheres of society and in any age bracket. If your child is in a stroller have one of these locators placed on the stroller or on a wrist band like a watch. Another good idea supported by women's self defense experts is to travel with another mother when you are out and about. Four eyes are better than two and you can take turns watching out for each other's children as you shop. Using women's self defense the right way will save you the misery of recovery or the loss of property. Tip number one, if you carry pepper spray; warn your attacker before you spray if you have time. If you are far enough away yell, "I have pepper spray and I am not afraid to use it." This fact alone may be enough to sway your attacker from fulfilling his predetermined plans. Women have avoided going on a vacation to an exotic land because they are afraid of dangerous situations and their personal safety. They are missing out on a wonderful experience because their self esteem is low and they do not have the confidence to take the leap and go on that vacation. Women are the logical choice for the criminal activity because most women would succumb to the assaulter's wishes because of smaller stature and less strength. Women were protected in the past by society's rules and a sense of chivalry. Not that chivalry is dead everywhere, a woman has more chance to be assaulted in today's society then they would have twenty years ago.
